Support to the Air Training Corps

Gliding Manawatu is privileged to have a strong relationship with the Air Training Corps (ATC), encouraging tomorrow’s champion glider pilots in their dream of flight. We regularly hold ATC gliding days to enable members of local Squadrons the opportunity to experience the thrill of flight.

Annually, ATC student pilots from throughout New Zealand travel to the region for their annual gliding camp and this year, Gliding Manawatu was thrilled to be able to provide two twin-seat gliders for the camp, namely our DG-1000S and Twin Astir. Numerous club instructors and tow pilots were happy to volunteer their time to support this year’s camp, held at Waipukurau airfield over the period 23-28 January 2011.
